UCD Alumni 5th Annual Party Announcement

Hi all,

The party date for this year is tentatively set for Saturday Oct 11, with Saturday Oct 25 is backup date (in case we can't book a venue).

Last October, we had our fun party at Lan's house in San Jose, with a number of band members and singers from VNHV group joined us. This year we decided to again get VNHV group to join us to get enough attendees to split up the rental cost for the venue. At the moment, we're looking at a Milpitas location and a San Jose location, with the cost from $350-500.

The party will have potluck format like before, live music and ballroom dancing. Depending on the number of attendees, the cost per adult is roughly between $5-$10 (no charges for children, no matter how old), about the cost of a bowl of Pho :-). We need to know ASAP that we have a good number of members + friends sign up soon in order to secure the place.

This year we're open to members to invite friends/relatives who are not UCD graduates as well, because the San Jose facility can hold approx 150 people. We also accept new members through referrals. In fact, our co-MC for the program is an Oracle employee and also new UCD alumni member (hint: you may have seen him on Viet TV).

I have added an extran column called "Song you wanna sing and chord". We need singers and pre-registered songs so that Michael and I can arrange the list, shuffle songs if needed, and work with the band and MC. That way you-the-singers will get access to pre-party practice with us.

A sample entry will be like "Besame mucho, Dm" or "Ngày xưa Hoàng thị, Mi thứ".

We'll have a large venue this time, we'll sit UCD Alumni group together. We don't have enough attendees to get the place for ourselves. Please sign up so others can follow, don't wait.

We still have to decide between Oct 11 and Oct 25. By putting your names and your availabilities on the sign-up sheet NOW, you can influence our decision which will be made by this weekend. Also we still need to decide between the two venues. If we choose the smaller one, and you sign up later, the place will be crowded.
