Hi all,
 
I hope everyone had a delightful New Year break.  It's been a while since we had a chance to see each other.  I am thinking of a "Hoi Ngo Trung Duong" for us.  In Feb or Mar or Apr, departing from Long Beach or LA,  to Caribbean or Mexico. trip length = 3-7 days.  Let me know you preferences so I can finallize the trip.

We're planing The Carnival Cruise traveling on Thursday April 16 @ 5:30 pm from San Diego.  Getting back on Sunday April 19 @ 8:00 am. 
The price is 229/person.  I'm checking with the agent to finalize the price once I know how many are going.
So far:
Hien:  2 adults, 2 kids (6,7)
Tri: 2 adults, 2 kids (5,7)
Uyen: 2 adults, 2 kids ( 3 ? , 2 month ? --I'll find out if there's any charge, but doubt if they do)

Sounds like fun!  This is a good idea Hien.. Our kids are out the same week as Tri's kids and we were thinking of heading to Orlando that week.  We haven't finalize our plan and may join you.

 

As far as kids, my last experience with Alaska trip that they do charge the kids (at least from Holland America) too.  Their reasoning is because the kids occupy a life jacket and seating in the rescue boat.  However, we were able to negotiate 1/2 price for the kids.  I don't know about child < 1 year and I think you may be able to get him w/out additional charge. 

 

Uyen, you can also request to have playpen and/or mini referigerator in your cabin with little $. That way you can have the kids' drinks (ie milk) in the refigerator and conveniently available anytime thru the night.

I had a friend who went to Ensenada and Catalina Island but didn't really enjoy Ensenada but recommended Catalina Island.  You may want to reconsider going to Catalina Island as well since it's another day. I think traveling around 12/13 with 4 days is good.. This will give the kids and parents some adjustment before going back to school/work on the 20th.

 

Also, you need to have your passports readily available since you will going to a different country.

Last time, we only need to show our kid's birth certificate to prove that he/she is born in the US. In this case, no passport is requireed and birth certificate is legitimate document.
