I am looking for several writers/journalists to contribute to an
ongoing blog about biking in Davis, CA. The work will be freelance and
compensation on traffic volume generated (initially zero, but building
over time). Applicants should live/work in Davis, CA, and have
experience blogging or reporting. Applicants should also be active in
the bike community (either commuting or recreational, or both) and
regularly attend bike related events. Photos will also be featured on
the blog, so decent photo skills are appreciated, but not required.
If you would like to be considered for freelance work, please send an
example article. The article can be any length and can include links
to other sites of interest. Greatest consideration will be given to
original articles that focus on current bike news/events in Davis. I
am not just looking for writing style, but knowledge and passion about
the topic.
The flavor and style of the site will be like
http://www.bikeportland.org,
so please review some of the posts on that site before submission.
Topic areas may include:
* Legal matters
* Car/Bike interactions
* Traffic management innovations
* Bike culture
* Community events
* Interviews
* Bike activism
* Survey/stats reporting
If you are interested, please submit an article. Also be sure to
include full contact information as well as any professional portfolio
or resume that you feel applies. I can respond with further details
and information. Feel free to email me with any questions.
Thank you for your interest.
