Job Title: Computer Assistant IV
Job Description: Work under the direction of Professor Boydstun to
develop computer code that "scrapes" websites for publicly available
information. The most immediate task, which needs to be completed
within 2 weeks, will be to scrape non-private profile information from
Facebook. Once that project is completed, there are a variety of
scraping and other computer programming tasks to follow.
Job Requirements: Applicant must be proficient in writing scrape
programs quickly and effectively. No on-the-job training will be
provided, so experienced scrapers only need apply. Because the
research
project involving scraping Facebook profile information is highly time
sensitive, the applicant must have the time available to be able to
complete this task within two weeks. Thereafter, scheduling will be
more flexibile, and the number of hours the applicant will work a week
can be negotiated.
