Hi Don.
you are correct I did not say email Tanuka or anyone else.
Maybe if you read this newsgroup longer you would know that Tanaku
tells the world every time he farts.
There is very little posting by anyone regarding Japan-American
culture, etc. because Tunuka is always "updating" us.
Many people have left because of this.
My post was just that people who want to reply to Tanka will have a
method to do so.

I was not being sly.
I really don't think there are more than may be 100-150 people who
read it. And using statistics, maybe 3-4 percent will respond.
I think you overestimate just how many would respond, even in Tunka's
case. You and Tankununu are living in a fantasy world.
Or, should I just call you Tanaka?

Good point Keichi. When people are surfing around newsgroups they do
make quick judgements whether to stay or not based on CONTENT of
newsgroups, not just lunatic rantings.
In that vein, I know its a bit dated, but movies come here late
anyway...I was wondering how the movie "Rising Sun" was regarded in the
states and elsewhere.
To this day when this subject comes up, my Japanese friends always quote
Sean Connery ("I'm very very OKOTTERU!") and we all crack up. The
Japanese in that movie was simply pathetic, and I'm surprised Hollywood
couldn't do a little better. The book was by far better, though if
you've already seen the portrayals in the movie, you couldn't read the
book now and not have ugly flashbacks of the ni-sei chopping up the
language.

Huh? Where'd that come from? Maybe this mailing program has a bug.
Anyway, please don't tell me Rising Sun was a blockbuster - there are
much better-made movies on Japan (though the best thing is always to
watch actual Japanese movies - "Shall we Dance" is one of the best
Japanese-made movies I've seen recently.)
