: I would like to introduce myself. My name is Kim-Son, and I am the new
: Asian Pacific Islander (API) Community intern at the Cross Cultural Center
: (CCC). My role is to be a liason, representative, and program coordinator
: to the API community.
:
: For those who don't know, the CCC is a center of diversity and a resource
: for support with issues of diversity. The CCC often assists with the
: funding of diversity (and leadership) related programs on campus. The
: office alone is a great resource for a meeting place, computers (checking
: e-mail, make flyers, etc...), or just a place to hang out. The community
: offices, including the API office is open most of the time for use by
: students. If it is an API related issue or program you need help with,
: come to see me and I will see if I can 't help you find or at least direct
: you to the appropriate resources
:
: We are looking for volunteers to help out at the API community office,
: located in the CCC. Applications are available at the CCC, located, just
: south of S.Hall (opposite of Olson Hall). Come support your community and
: build leadership skills at the same time.
:
:
: We are also currently developing another internship to assist my role as a
: community intern in our very diverse API community. The internship
: position is expected to include the role of Asian-American Studies
: liason and the general shared role of API organization liason. Programming
: experience will also be a perk for this position. The position has yet to
: be finalized, but if you see yourself as a progressive leader with
: dedication to the API community, this will probably be the role for you.
: This is a quarterly position, however, year long commitments will be
: seriously considered. The intern will be working closely with me, so
: please talk with me if you have question
:
: Again, both volunteers and intern(s) build valuable leadership,
: programming, and "people" skills. Transcript notation and/or unit credit
: are also options currently being explored for interns.
:
: Please feel free to drop in or give me a call. My Fall office hours are MW
: 11-1; T 1-12.
:
: Thanks. And welcome back to another great year.
