Does anybody know hot to convert xwd/xwud format to other format such as
jpg/png/tiff ??? I'd like to do it w/o interaction, e.g. by using xv, the
image can be captured in various format, which requires interaction.

I'd like to do it automatically so that I can see the desktop through any
web browser, so if there's any better way, I'm happy to hear. Any suggestion?
TIA.

Try imagemagick (http://freshmeat.net/projects/imagemagick/)

the 'convert' program can convert just about any format into just about any
other format, as well as do some changes to the image itself.
