AN IDEA FROM IRENE
I’m finding that change is not good or bad, it just is. Change can become an opportunity or a stumbling block. Personally, I don’t particularly like change. I like things to go along smoothly, everything moving along just the way I have them programmed in my mind.
Well, guess what...change happens and it happens all the time and from change can come the most surprising occurrences. One of the Daily Word messages says, “It’s those life-changing events that may cause me to feel as if I’m starting over, and that is OK, because a new start holds the promise of my greater good.”
My friends, God is always present and even when we don’t see the good in something there is the great big D.O.(Divine Order). We might not see it at the time, yet if we continue to be the best that we can be there is a blessing that comes from even the most challenging times.
My husband’s family has been estranged for over 20 years...no communication … a feeling of disconnect so strong that the alienation appeared to be permanent. (What do we hold in Unity? Look beyond appearances). In the midst of Gordon's recent surgery the word got out, through e-mail, of the seriousness of his condition. I began to get e-mails from his nieces and nephews; messages of concern and prayers for his recovery and my strength to meet any situation. Not only where there
e-mails from these family members, there was also a request from his older brother saying that he and his wife would like to come and see Gordon. I read this communication and I sat at my computer with tears in my eyes and said, “Oh God, only You could bring about this miracle. Thank you for opportunity to bring this family back to a new start.” CHANGE! A NEW START! “A new start holds the promise of my greater good”(DW).
My idea is for each of us to take a close look at the situations in our own lives and see the events as an opportunity to bring about a fresh approach to life and to give thanks for the opportunity of a new start
“God is my constant companion, and with God, I am always making progress.”
Thank you for your prayers and concern, through the grace and wonderful love of God, Gordon is on his way to recovery.
