Subject: New Trumpet
ON THIS DAY: Oct. 1, 1767 - The records of the first Baptist church in New Hampshire revealed a vote to "carry on Mr. Stewart's and Mr. Carter's lawsuits which are now in the law on account of rates imposed on
them by the standing order."1 (State Church). They refused taxation
that was to support a State Church. 1[John T. Christian, A History of the Baptists ( 1922; reprint ed., Nashville: Broadman Press, 1926), p. 144.] Provided By Dale R. Hart.
May God bless and keep you in His arms.
