Q: What makes the Google Ambassador Program unique?

- Role: Many companies may have their ambassadors act as recruiters OR as
brand ambassadors on campus. We empower our Ambassadors to be both. Not
only are they helping us identify potential recruiting opportunities or
students who may be a good fit for Google, but also they champions for
Google, sharing best practices and spreading the word about new Google
products and features. We feel many of our products can be especially
beneficial for students (Docs, Sites, Gmail, Calendar, Scholar, etc.), but
the best way for us to get this message out to the students is not for us
working at Google to tell them, but for our Ambassadors to show them.
- Audience: The ambassador program calls for students to work with other
students in different disciplines. It isn't often that you see engineers
and non-technical students working together and learning from each other.
But, it doesn't stop there... our Ambassadors are not just interacting with
their fellow students and classmates; we have Ambassadors who are connecting
with faculty and staff on campus. For example, our ambassador may work with
a faculty member to help them set up a Google Sites page for their classroom
project, or talk to a campus IT professional about the benefits of "Going
Google" on their campus. We empower ambassadors to work with senior
leadership and make changes that impact the entire student body.
- Innovation: Just like Google, our Ambassadors strive for innovation.
Another student got 1,800 students to take our survey about using Google
Docs. Ambassadors use Google products to be successful on campuses

Q: Are ambassadors Google employees?

A: Ambassadors are volunteers and therefore not considered Google employees
or official representatives of Google. However, many of them have been
previously employed through our Internship program and all of our
ambassadors have been trained on our products.
