Folks,

Rob Grider and others from the Danville Derailleurs will be hosting a Labor Day Weekend Ride as follows:

Labor Day Annual Weekend Ride
Rain date, Monday, Sept 2nd, 8:30am (Central Time)
Starting point will be Covington, Indiana City Park (https://maps.app.goo.gl/wnYVm7pxN8Kzu1oz6)
There is no cost for this ride as there is no SAG support nor SAG stops, although we do have a lunch stop in Attica, IN and if riding the longest route, an additional stop will be in Veedersburg, IN. PaPa Kenny's should be open on Saturday in Independence as well (near Cicott Park) but is usually closed on Monday Labor Day.
Btw, please keep checking back on the routes as they may be adjusted if needed, even right up until the day of the ride.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us directly: https://www.facebook.com/danvillecyclingclub
Depending on weather, I (Charlie) may go to Covington on Monday to do one of the following routes some of which I've tested, others not sure of - all of these rides are at your own risk/bring your own SAG etc.:
Covington-Cayuga-Kingman loop (63 miles) using parts of the old Perrysville route - so bad roadway likely from Silverwood to Howard though supposed to all be paved, unsure if the Oasis in Kingman will be open or not on Labor Day but can check Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/thekingmanoasis) :
Covington-Cayuga-Perrysville-Fountain (64 miles) This should be all good road doing a loop south and then north of Covington - I regularly use the roadway from Covington to Fountain while Rob's route goes "inland":
Covington-Black Rock (this route goes along the Wabash on both sides from just northeast of Fountain to near West Lafayette (WWR)(route by Mark N) and is all paved (rode this last year)(if the wind is steady out of the NE on Monday this may be the route I do)
---------------------------------------
And here are some alternatives for those who have done the Wabash River Ride routes and want to repeat or try parts of them:
Start Cicott Park covering the Pine Creek Loop and then a loop through Attica for a 34 and then 12 mile loop:
These same loops starting from Attica's McDonald Park (portapotty by the tennis court) (various ways around the downtown area depending on where you want to stop - McDonalds and County Market along the main stretch) and this does the Attica loop in reverse so that the climb is from the bridge near Cicott Park:
This is a 20 mile loop from Cicott Park towards W. Lafayette to Green Hill for which I have not tested the 2nd half return:
