Folks,
Champaign County Bikes helps CU Safe Routes to School (SRTS) with
many of their events annually. This past year, IDOT funding for
the CU SRTS program ended as IDOT has chosen to put all of the
Safe Routes money into infrastructure. One of the programs we help
with is a Build-a-Bike with tweens and teens at Don Moyer Boys and
Girls Club. We have exhausted our supply of the smallest adult
bikes that we acquired several years ago (factory returns of
Priority Bike 3 speeds using a carbon chain) and we are in need of
something to fit the smallest of our participants this year. We
thought we were going to be able to adapt one of our remaining
larger bikes but it wasn't possible. We have had to use one of
CCB's step through 7 speed Treks from our youth training program
for this young man for his training this week. But at the end of
the program this week, we give the participants the bikes to keep
that they helped build (along with helmets, lights, and locks). So
I'm now looking to acquire (free to reasonable cost) something
like the pictured bike below (a gently used 3 speed step-through
of some kind like this would work - a small 15 or 17 inch adult
step through or a larger youth bike with 24inch wheels - and I can
do basic repair and maintenance if needed). If you have something
that might work for us, please contact me (csm...@sbcglobal.net).
Thanks!
This is the bike he's been riding and it fits well.

This is a medium sized Priority bike, step through. A smaller frame version like this would also work:
