Champaign County Bikes will have its Annual Meeting Thursday Dec. 8, 2022 from 7-8:30pm at the Champaign Public Library (Busey Bank Conf. Room 222, 2nd Floor) or via Zoom Webinar (courtesy of Ride Illinois – registration link below).
Our guest speaker will be Tony Cherolis (https://www.instagram.com/cherolis/). Tony has served and worked with Non-Profits including the U-C Bike Project and most recently the Center for Latino Progress (https://www.facebook.com/CenterLatino/). He's currently finishing up a 5-month bike trip covering over 6250 miles. He has been writing about the trip and commenting for https://ctnewsjunkie.com/author/anthony-cherolis/. He will talk about his experiences with non-profits and as a bicycle tourist.
Following Tony's presentation, we will have a short report on CCB accomplishments and activities this past year as well as some future plans. The annual meeting is also time for board elections. Three current board members are stepping down (Charlie Smyth, Audrey Ishii, Peter Davis) while six will be continuing (Jeff Yockey, Rich Furr, Annette Stumpf, Rose Kaczmarowski, Rick Langlois, and Phil Graff). John Lambert and Briana Barr have agreed to serve on the board and Phil Graff, who took over for Leo Covis on his departure, are up for election. Bios will be posted to the CCB website soon. If you are interested in serving on the board, or know someone who would, please contact me (our bylaws allow for 7 to 9 board members). Members and anyone having made a contribution of $15 or more this past year is eligible to vote ($10 students).
