23. Transition to Compact 1 Mouse in Type 5 Country Kits

Sun Microsystems Computer Company (SMCC) announces the transition to
the Compact 1 mouse in the Type 5 country kits. The Compact 1
opto-mechanical mouse replaces the Type 5 optical mouse in all Type 5
country kits.

This change is being made due to the overwhelming response from our
mouse survey. Over 85 percent of customers responding to the
questionnaire preferred the Compact 1 over the Type 4 and Type 5
optical mice.

The Type 5 mouse will be available as an option on SMCC price list.

Sun will also be shipping a colorful sponge mouse pad with the Compact
1 mouse. While the Compact 1 mouse does not require a mouse pad to
function properly, many customers stated that they preferred using a
sponge mouse pad as a palm rest, which they felt kept the mouse cleaner
and worked better.
