IB 131L-Human Anatomy Laboratory, all exams are just one answer fill-ins,
easy though.
IB 132L-Human Physiology Laboratory
IB 160-Evolution, a very cool and pretty easy class.
MCB 163-Mammalian Anatomy, lots to memorize, but the exams are cake.
MCB 136-Physiology, mostly multiple choice exam and very straight
forward.
IB 130-Evolutionary and funtional morphology of the vertebrates, very easy
and taught by world class professor, Dr. Wake. Must be taken with lab,
but with lab it's 6-units.
Also IB?, I forgot the number, but it's called Human Osteology, taught by
world class professor, Dr. Tim White. I highly recommend this class,
havn't taken it, but hear it's awsome!
Hope this helps.

I took this class last semester concurrently with MCATS. It definitely
provided strong preparation for the exam. The difficulty of the material
is not in the 'width' of the coursework--in terms of how many different
topics are covered--but really in the depth of the coursework: You really
only study 4-5 major systems of the body, however you have to have a good
working knowledge of the human body from the molecular/cellular level
(e.g. specific molecular pathways of ion secretions for saliva formation)
all the way up to the general systemic/anatomical level (e.g. 2 the
overall process/'macromechanisms' of the digestive process).
Anyway, the key to getting an A in the class is to get a hold of previous
exams, both in the reader and any that you can from friends because the
questions seem to be recycled. Also, if there is a TA named Noah, try to
get into his sections. I think he writes most of the tests and thus is
very helpful for review times. If you follow this advice and of course
study somewhat hard, you'll do well. Also, the final is the last day, so
that helps a lot.

I would just like to respond to the E-mail from Ananada which listed MCB 136
as a very easy class and also a G.P.A. booster. I just took this class last
semester and found it extremely demanding. Although, I earned an "A," it
seemed as though I practically killed myself doing it with all the studying
time I put in. Furthermore, many people I talked to in the class either
didn't last for the duration of the course (they dropped because they were
performing poorly) or they transferred into Integrative Biology 132 so that
they could get out of this course. Lastly, I would like to say that even
though MCB 136 is a very demanding course, it is definitely worth your while
to take it if you want to have a firm understanding of physiology. If you are
pre-med like I am this class will DEFINITELY help you with your MCAT score.
Overall, I would say that even though this course was very rigorous, it was
probably one of the most rewarding upper division class I have taken thus far
because of the interesting material, good instructors, and the immense
challenge (to succeed). Anyway, I hope this helps everyone.

If you are in the neuro emphasis, I would recommend taking MCB 163
for your lab requirement because I hear 160L is a lot harder, but that's
just what I heard.
As for taking 163 to prep for the MCAT, I don't think it is necessary
because the MCAT doesn't require you to know neuroanatomy in as much
detail as 163 covers.
