Tiananmen Square Today: An Interactive Look

Photographed in April, 2000 it shows the square as it is now. Two Java panoramas (160k each, no plug-in) let you pan, zoom and check out the people. They even tell the names of landmarks when the mouse moves over them.
An animated photo montage in front of the Gate of Heavenly Peace shows Chinese tourists as they pose for their photographs with Chairman Mao (uses Flash 3).
Erected temporarily for Labor Day in May 2000, an image of Sun Yat-sen was built facing Mao across Tianamen Square. A photo montage shows close up what it looked like and on the scene action (uses Flash 2).
