Hello everyone!

I just wanted to put in my two cents about how wonderful the event was.
I've actually been thinking about this for a couple of days so i hope that
i get everything out there that i want to. =) Here we go!

I just wanted to say congratulations to everyone for a spectacular job this
year. This year's eggster has truly been the best yet. I've been doing
this for a few years now and the talent that emerged throughout this year
has BLOWN ME AWAY! From the signs to the booths to the schools to agencies
to the donations to... the list could go on forever. I had the fortune
this year to just wander around at my own lesiure and observe the event and
this is what I came up with.

One... i only see the sun rise once a year...

Two... there were approximately 612 happy children that signed up at the
start booth. Now... those are only the children that signed in. I know
that there are many, many more than that. Then you add in all the
parents, the grandparents, the aunts, the uncles, the cousins, and the
friends and you have a truly HUGE family oriented event. I'm sure that you
saw all the smiles out there and the delighted shouts of joy from children
who went from snagging some eggs to planting a seed to watching an awesome
eggster theater performance.

Three... We had some great publicity this year and we raised tons of money.
We all marveled at the grandeur of the props, the variety of booths and
the innovations that made this year so much fun.

Four... the gauntlet has been raised for next year! Ready for the
challenge? =)

But, for me, what is the best about this event is all the behind the scenes
work and how we all banded together to make this event what it was. I came
in as a freshman not too long ago and I was totally lost about the event.
It wasn't until I actually saw the day that I realized the impact that we
were making on the community. I hope that all the new eggsters got the
same feeling and that the ones that have seen it before were equally wowed.

The thing about this event is that no one person can put it on and no one
person can direct. It's entirely a project of ALL our imagination and ALL
our effort. The years prior can act as a guideline (and they do) and the
phenomenal Egghead crew can get and keep the ball rolling (and they do) but
it's really all the little ideas that we bring in from all of our own walks
of life that make it our own. We work with each other and bounce ideas off
each other and build on a whole series of ideas. A lot of you have talked
about how friendly the environment is and how we go beyond just Eggster
stuff. I hope that it's that way forever because it's truly a special and
rare thing.

I just wanted to share some of the comments that were written down on the
sign-in sheet and some of the comments that I got from the community to let
you know that Eggster is the BEST!!!

- Ace Hardware (the ones that donated the plastic eggs) told me that they
absolutely love eggster and they do whatever it is that they can do to
help. In fact, they have an eggster file and it's just sitting there
waiting each year for our donation request letter to come.

- People came from near and far to the event and the comments ranged from...
"we come every year" to "Three years here... love it!" to one family who
drives up from Palo Alto every year for the event.

So anyways... to finish up... Eggsters past and present have made this a
great way to end my college career here and i have a wonderful new set of
memories to take with me! If you've gotten this far without falling
asleep, thanks for bearing with me because I know it's been a rather long
winded e-mail. Congratulations to everyone again... especially the
EGGHEADS led by the fearless and phaaaaaaaaaaaat SCOTT and DONG!!!

I'll be halfway across the country next year but I'll be thinking of you
guys and I fully expect someone to hit me up for a sponsorship!

Aww man... i love ya guys... YOU DID IT!!!!!! =)
