Will there be easels and boards available for hanging our posters on Wednesday?

We're hoping to get a set of easels for Wednesday, so we should be in
business.

Could you clarify what the presentations should be like? Why do we need
posters?

You need to present your work tomorrow by participating on a poster
session, where you describe your project on a poster and possibly a live
demo on your own machine. Be prepared to explain your project to
Professor O'Brien as he makes the rounds.

Could you elaborate? I thought we were supposed to present to the class,
but I guess I was wrong.

What should be on the poster if we have an interactive demo? How long
should each presentation be? Where will this be held?

The final project presentations consists of a poster session held in the
Woz tomorrow from 2:30pm to 6pm. West Coast Pizza will be served.

You are expected to come and participate in the poster session, where
you will demonstrate your final project to your classmates and teaching
staff. Posters should follow a similar format to posters for research
projects. State your project and goals, your methods and your results.
Live demos are great, so bring your laptop and show off your work.
Although you can get away with just showing a demo, you should go ahead
and make a poster with some images and some words describing your project.

you should be ready to explain your project to Professor O'Brien, so
prepare a couple of bullet points you would want to mention to him when
he looks at your project. Go ahead and sell your project to him.

Good luck!

Sometimes I feel like nobody listens to anything I say in class. I
think I'm going to start making announcements like:

"The secret number is 87539319. A total of fifty extra credit points
will be divided up among the people who write that number on their exam,
rounded down to an int. So if 1 person does it they get +50. If three
people do it they each get +16. If the whole class does it no one gets
anything since 50/70 < 1."

Just so we're clear, the above is hypothetical. You won't get points on
the final exam because I did not think of doing this in time to announce
it in class. Next year presents new possibilities though. If you want
to amuse me, write the number on Thursday's final. You won't get points,
but I'll be amused by my power to make students do arbitrary, pointless
things... and that's what matters in life.

I listen, but using the hive mind is quite a bit easier than leafing
through my notes. ;)
