Jornada Basin LTER Field Trip

The 2011 Fall field trip will take place October 6th – 9th in the northern Chihuahuan Desert of New Mexico at the Jornada Basin Long Term Ecological Research site .   Join the SEEDS Program as we explore rangeland ecology in this vast wilderness. This field trip provides a unique opportunity for students to learn from and contribute to scientific research being done at Jornada LTER. ESA wants to recognize the SEEDS chapter that has made the greatest impression, put forth the most effort, made the most outstanding contribution, wholeheartedly embraced the SEEDS mission, and gone the extra mile to extend SEEDS into the community. Let us celebrate your chapter’s accomplishments with you! Submit your Chapter of the Year Award application today!

 

 


ESA Annual Meeting travel awards

Application deadline May 31, 2011

The Rangeland Ecology section will offer one or more awards for $350 to support the travel of outstanding graduate and advanced undergraduate students to the ESA annual meeting. SEEDS students are strongly encouraged to apply. Awardees must be the presenting author on an oral paper or poster that has been accepted for presentation at the annual meeting. The paper/poster should address an aspect of the relationships between organisms, biogeochemical cycles, and people to past, present, and future rangeland ecosystems.  The deadline to apply is May 31, 2011 and instructions to apply can be found here.
