1. Diverse People for a Diverse Science
I'm gonna be punny and say I'd love for all ya'll continuing with SEEDS to help us get back to our ROOTS!!! :
Diversity. Not only was the need for increased diversity amongst sustainability efforts the impetus for starting the club at Berkeley, it was the whole reason the national program was established by the Ecological Society of America (ESA, our parent org.)
What is this diversity I'm talking about? Well that's not alone for me to determine, but here's how the ESA puts it:
SEEDS Mission Statement
....to diversify and advance the ecology profession through
opportunities that stimulate and nurture the interest of
underrepresented students to not only participate in ecology, but to
lead.I would love to see this take priority in our club and for us to choose our activities and projects based on this overarching goal of getting people from different cultural, socioeconomic, ethnic, regional, etc. backgrounds involved in ecology. I have some ideas, but I want a diverse range of ideas to come into this.

We'll also be putting together some tabling supplies for this event and
and Calapooza on the following Thurs,
anyone have plants, interesting ecology-related
things to attract people to the table? Anyone wanna help us put some
stuff together?
Email me if interested.

have class until 7pm. Yekun is down to table and so we need people to
