Introduction

Since I have the attention span of a knat, I like making short and
compact podcasts over long mono- or bio-logs. It's fun to make little
bits and string them together into a story or story line, or even by
theme (Music, MJ, War, Politics, Poetry, whatever).

I thought it would be even more fun, not to mention more compelling
(insert YOUR message here!), to combine-thread microcasts from various
podcasters together into 30 or 60 minute programs.

I'm talking about 5-10 minutes per work. Then stringing them together
into 30 or 60 minute threads. The syntax is unimportant ('nano' seems
to be for commecial uses, 'micro' sound ok, whatever). The idea is to
combine 3-4-? segments from different 'casters in one 'cast as a
periodic collaborative 'feature' exploring different facets of a single
subject/topic.

Don't get me wrong- the dialog podcasts are cool, I'm just talking
about 'casts with a more ADD/Ritalin friendly pacing. Or, again,
specific topical collaborations.

I think this is a great idea - who's going to do all the production and
at what bit-rate should the .mp3s be - also to where do we send them?

Here's what I've been thinking:

- 128 kbs, stereo, 16 bit. 44.1 kHz standard.
- Contributors can post a link to their segment (everyone host's their
own microcast).
- I would be happy to at least do the first production of piecing them
together. If each microcast has a std (?) intro/outro, it would make
it a whole lot easier. By std I mean the name of show at least.
