It’s spring again! This year we are moving the garden across the field in an effort to reduce the flooding problems that we have had in the past. This will take a few weekends so are plenty of volunteering opportunities. Please come out for one or all.
Saturday, May 2, 9:00am until noon: We will be setting the new fence post
Saturday, May 9, 9:00am until noon: We will install the deer netting
Saturday, May 30, 9:00am until noon is PLANTING DAY.
Please come out and help with our efforts to grow fresh vegetables for our Food Pantry. Volunteers are needed to help with the tools, lend advice, and plant the Township plot.
The Health Department program families will be on site as well to plant their own plots.
Throughout the summer regular volunteers are needed to water, weed and later to harvest the vegetables for the Township Food Pantry. Times and schedule are completely flexible, however an orientation session is necessary.
Please plan to join us. Dress to get dirty and bring work gloves and tools if you have them. We will provide instruction, gloves and tools.
Thanks to the Park District of Highland Park for their partnership in this endeavor, and to Craftwood Lumber for helping with supplies and Anton’s for help with plants.
Donations of vegetable seeds or seedlings are always very welcome.
