Jacob called and said Public Works has started on installing the
lights. So far it's on the outside of the park hooking up all of the
electrical. I don't know yet when they will be in the park, but will
let you know as soon as i hear.

I was at the park yesterday and they have some red stakes in the ground
that looked about right for the location of the lights.

Thanks, Bruce for the Dog Park info.I saw Randy at the shelter yesterday. They are trying to get
the lights, but he is not a miracle worker either,he has to depend on other people to deliver the
goods and help.By 8:30 is still some daylight.

the public works are digging holes now for the posts. They will fence
them in and leave the park open until they are ready to trench for the
wiring. Then the park will be locked until they are finished. We
will post on facebook and put a sign up at the park when that happens.

Also, check your calendars and see if your are available for a
meeting next Wed. July 25.

I would suggest waiting until the lights are operational. We can
evaluate them and then have some definite things to discuss.

what would be the point of evaluating anything? It's not up to
us...it's all Randy now. Once they are up, they are up. If we meet
again, it should be to discuss raising money. If anyone is iterested
in a wine tasting this year. If so, we need to start.

To be specific, it's time to start working on the wine tasting, but only if the committee is interested in working on another one.  Please let us know if you are interested in working another wine tasting as soon as possible.  If you are, we need to start meeting.  If not many people are interested in the work, we don't need any meetings.

There will be one light for each pole, but the poles are capable of
handling two. The wiring will also be for two. We need to evaluate the
lights as built to decide if we want to try to raise money for
additional lights.

I agree that if we are going to do another wine tasting then the
planning needs to start, but we also need to know why we are raising the
funds. I'm only talking about a (hopefully) one week or less delay for
the next meeting.

At the beginning of this, Randy said we need two lights on each pole.
Actually I think pole can hold 3 lights. This was just to give out
enough to open the park at night. One more fundraiser should do it
and take care of the park for years. But, as you all remember, this
is A LOT of work...not just the night of the event, but the prep
work.., not just have meetings to update. FOOTWORK..if everyone isn't
ready for this, we may need to rethink things. The lighting "as is"
will be some light, not great light..

Perhaps you are right, but I don't want to make a decision on
supposition. I want to see what we have and evaluate it before
committing to anything. We also need to know how much funding is needed.

I think we need more agility stuff in the park.  It has been suggested to several people looking for projects but no one has followed through.  And we probably will need more lighting come winter.
I will be happy to help with a wine tasting but you need to know that I will be out of the country from Nov.7-30  I have meetings every first and third Thurs. of the month and every 4th Tues.  All of these are important to me.

Once the decision has ben made for/against a meeting on the 24th, please let us know.
