I'm trying to setup AD Authentication for my Ubuntu / Linux servers using SSSD / Samba

I've got the components all setup as I walked through the article posted on the askubuntu page -

https://help.ubuntu.com/lts/serverguide/sssd-ad.html

The server joins to the domain however there is a DNS error.

I attempt to join my server to the domain and it comes back with a DNS Update for <computer name> failed ERROR_DNS_GSS_ERROR / DNS Update failed: NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL

Our DNS Server is NOT THE SAME as our domain controller servers.  How can I setup the configuration so that it adds the Ubuntu / Linux servers and handles AD user authentication without an issue.

Thanks for your help ahead of time.

resolve the DNS manually or use IP Address instead
