Assalam Alaikum everyone,
I have an ambitious plan to re-shape the team, from revamping the Wiki
page to making a website.

Plans which I shall implement:
1) Make a Logo for the team
2) Style the Wiki page

Plans which someone else shall implement:
1) Re-write the wiki page completely, with an emphasis on newcomers.
2) Create a website.

Regards,
Bilal Akhtar

I think that setting the team goals and values is most important. But I just joined this group yesterday, so I'm not familiar with the team.

Ahmed,
Assalam Alaikum,
You need to know that the team is in a revival stage. This team was
created way back in 2006, and has been stagnant until now. Everything
needs to be changed, from the wiki page to the team leader. Our new goal
is to become approved by mid-2011. Such things are very much important.
The new team leader shall be decided in the Ubuntu LoCo Council meeting
on August 3rd. We have to nominate a person, and the council will make
the arrangements for change of leader. The leader will either be Natty
or Sary Muhammad.
Once this decision is made, we shall organise meetings and events.

Regards,
Bilal Akhtar.

Assalam Alaikum,

> Why is getting approved important?
It is important for many reasons:
1) Approved teams are fully recognised by Canonical.
2) Approved teams get many offers on ShipIt services (like 250 free CDs
per month)
3) Leading members of Approved teams easily become Ubuntu members, with
benefits like an @ubuntu.com email address, etc.

and many, many more.

Good. That's what the word 'LoCo team member' means.

No, I don't speak arabic, but I am sure the rest over here speak. I live
in Saudi, and have been using Ubuntu for a long time.
