Al salamo Al ikom,

We are organizing to do an event for Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). It will take place at King Faisal University starting Sunday 20 March up to Tuesday 22 March. We will introduce Ubuntu as the main operating system. There will be an introduction about Open Source Software and its advantages. Also we will give away Ubuntu CDs as will as FOSS for win CDs.

This is the first time we organizes something like this, so it any one have some experience we would love to hear from you as quick as you can. Also if you have any poster or flyers  we would like to take a look on them.

We will be thankful for your help.

OK I suggest promoting http://ubuntu-manual.org/. Maybe giving away copeies of the Arabic version of the manual. People to my experienced love professionalizm. I mean print images on CDs and use DVD boxings with nylon covers. Show off visual effects of compiz and the things people would say about (I wish windows could do that!)

http://spreadubuntu.org/

@Emad Medher: Thank you, I have forget about the Ubuntu Manual. About Compiz, we are going to make a video about its effects. While printing CDs images and covers maybe a little be difficult, but we will try to do it if we had the time.

Thanks for your input.

I just had this crazy Idea. We were hoping to do such event here in King Fahad University so what about a collaboration between us? I don't know who are you presenting but I can safely tell you that I represent the CCSE as I'm a board of directors member of the club. If you wanted to represents SA Ubuntu LoCo team I can get you a place in our first TechTalk event we're planning to do in the following month.

The techtalk we're planning will be an event with around 100-150 students with a few guests including ICS chairman and may be CCSE Dean.

The techtalk scope are the technologies expected to appear in the near future by most people while they're already at consumers reach like a mind only controller for the PC, Wireless electricity applications and Cloud computing (as in cloud computing not as in cloud storage.)

If you like the idea and if you want to represent the LoCo team I can see to it to give you some time in the event to demonstrate that Linux is popular Linux is here,
we all use linux, We are the Saudi Arabia team, Look even your club at your university can give you help at this. Look those are your friends and neighboors who uses linux, and so on...

Waiting for your Response

I am flattered by your offer and thankful. I would love to come and participate at your Tech Talk event. But can you give me more details about the event. As I am an undergraduate CS student, too.

If you can give the date and time of the event I will be grateful.
