Won't have it on the install CD.  It'll be a couple clicks away from being installed.  Not much of an issue, IMO.

i've never really used it myself
i run photoshop thru wine instead, i did TRY gimp briefly but when i couldnt figure out how to do ANYTHING (even crop or resize and image) i gave up, also i hated the interface

photoshop runs perfectly in wine for me
also for resizing or changing formats i found a command line app named 'convert' thats part of image magick

Yeah I'm the same way. I'm probably too familiar with photoshop. Although personally I don't like the cs4 interface but that's another story.

Being a daily graphics manipulator I do not find this to be a problem.
It gives the developer more room on the CD for the OS and GIMP is still
free for a point and click or an apt-get install.

you know what ive really missed, its not even in the repositories, is xmms
its still the best

what audio and video players do you guys use cause i never really liked the default ones,i use mplayer and xmms. mplayer plays EVERYTHING!! like.. EVERYTHING!!
you can even play downloaded flash movies you pull out of your /tmp/ directory when they are loaded in firefox

the default one is always finding codecs it doesnt recognize and failing to find them (like windows media player ;))

You realize that wmv is just an envelope, like mkv and can contain many
codecs, right? That said, it does seem to be codecs in wmv that bite me
the most.

I'm a fan of VLC and have been using Rhythmbox for music.
