I went to White's Valley earlier today(Tim thanks for the suggestion) and the valley was alive. Right of the bat I had 2 juvenile Golden Eagles, 1 on a fence post and one right below him on the ground. The one on the post flew to the hillside and for quite a while I was worried the one on the ground was hurt. It would not fly and was trying to get away by trying to go thru the fence which it could not. It walked, not flew, further down the fenceline and it repeated the same behavior. Right as I was calling the Ogden rehab center to find out what to do, I walked a little bit closer, probably within 10 feet, and it finally showed it could fly. Relieved that it was not hurt and that I did not distress it to much we continued on. There were Northern Harriers hunting all over the valley. I continued on the private road heading to the 2 silos when small game birds were crossing the road ahead of us, smaller than chukars I assume these were the Gray Partridges found in the area (never got pictures or clean views of them). I headed towards the hunting club and there off to the left was a Great Blue Heron at the small pond. I also got a Prairie Falcon just up the road. I went back and headed East from the single silo towards the steel plant and found I believe a Red-Tailed Hawk eating Breakfast on the fencepost. I turned off the car and waited to as not disturb his breakfast. I headed south next towards Corinne and stopped at Salt Creek area. On the way there I had 4 Sandhill Cranes in a field along the highway. From Salt Creek we headed to Bear River. At Bear River there were baby Clarks Grebes riding on the backs of the parents sometimes completely covered from view. Leaving Bear River and off to the left which would of been North I stopped to view a raptor sitting on what looked like some old rusty barb wire. When I put the glasses on the bird I recognized it as a falcon, but it looked nothing like the Prairie Falcon I had seen earlier. Could this actually be a Peregrine Falcon? Looks like it is. What a day, like I said Great Blue Heron in White's Valley and Peregrine at Bear River:)
