Hi everybody,
If you're on the ubiquity-core or ubiquity-firefox mailing lists you
already saw this, but I just announced a plan to release Ubiquity
0.1.9 in about three weeks. I proposed that for the first time, the
release should include multiple languages for public consumption.
Before anybody panics, I don't expect everything to be done in three
weeks -- I'm just saying that we should try to include options for,
let's say, three languages, with a useful selection of localized verbs
in each one. We don't have to have a full framework for distributed
localization of nountypes (the hardest thing).
I think the deadline should keep us focused on getting something in
front of the users that provides some value for non-English speakers.
It can also serve as a starting point for attracting volunteer
localizers.
Also, I added an internationalization component to Ubiquity trac. I
think Mitcho should be the module owner for it, since that's been his
de-facto role for a while anyway, and because he's taken so much
initiative in making the parser changes happen.
Your feedback on this plan is greatly appreciated. Thanks, everybody!
