Hi Tyant,
We've talked a lot about letting Ubiquity work on the desktop, i.e.
launch applications and control stuff outside of Firefox. It's
something we'd like to do eventually but I don't think we have any
concrete plans at this time. I know Atul did some experiments with
getting Ubiquity to talk to an external Python process, which in
theory would allow it to control the desktop. He might be able to
tell you more about that.
You might also look up Enso (for Windows), Quicksilver (for Mac), or
one of several other programs that do something similar...
