Hi All,

There are many matters in the recent ED Report that merit discussion. I do hope we can schedule a Board Meeting where we can assemble face to face. I can assure all that much visioning, conversation and planning has been conducted by our Board during the 5+ years I have been a part of it.

I wish for all to know that it is the job of the EDs (and their marketing volunteers) to contact churches about upcoming events, like the Astronomy Weekend. They will need to access the various congregations' administrators or newsletter editors to ascertain their deadlines. Unfortunately that announcement needed to be in the February Newsletter for a March event. February newsletter deadlines are usually closer to mid-January. First UU Austin's deadline is the 15th of the previous month. UU Church of the Hill Country's is the 18th. San Gabriel UU's is the 20th. I am presenting the Men's Fellowship Retreat announcement now to the various Newsletter Editors shown below for the March publications prior to the April 5-7 retreat.

That said, there are other means to publicize at this late date, including posting flyers at Churches and in weekly emailed announcements. The following local congregations need to be contacted via the web or phone to ascertain their deadlines and suggested means to advertise events at UBarU:

I'll contact First UU Austin on this, see if we can get in their weekly updates and ask about posting flyers, and order of service which I recall has some upcoming events mentioned.

A simple flyer would be good so others could distribute at their locations as well.
