First Post :) UAV in the UK

Hello and welcome to the pages of UAV UK Flyers, this group has come about as part of the DIY Drones ArduPilot Mega project started by Chris Anderson and Jordi Munoz.

 

The UK has started to gain an ever-growing community of amateur UAV flyers on the DIY Drones forums; this group is for them and others who have an interest in UAV’s meeting up and flying in the UK.

 

For those of you that don’t know me, I am an active member on the forums at DIY Drones, you can find me there as “martint” and I own & run www.buildyourowndrone.co.uk in the UK, I supply both the UK and European markets with DIY Drones hardware.

 

I work and live very close to Basingstoke in North Hampshire. I don’t belong to any flying clubs in the local area at this time; I’m very luck to have so much open space to fly in without the risk that people or properties bring!

 

I would like to see this group grow into a type of directory for the UK of where people are flying and welcome others to join them and share experiences, tips & tricks in all that is UAV.

 good to hear that there are folks around the area where I live or at a distance which i could get on a train and reach who are interested ;). Thanks for the post, would be keen to know what all you have hacked up so far.

Hello Zero, Great to hear from you, at this time I have mainly being using a multiplex easy star for my UAV flights using the ArduPilot Mega to carry out way point navigations.

 

Where are you based?

 

Have you an Autopilot?
