PID SETTINGS - ACROBATIC AND STABLE MODES - WHAT A NIGHTMARE

Can anyone help me on PID settings, other than the confusing Ardupirates guidance in the two flying modes. I also want to get to change PID settings quickly? Do I need to set up wireless? The supply of kit for that in the UK seems equally confusing for wireless if I have to go down that route.
