Hi All,

I want to use altitude hold by enabling ALTITUDE HOLD PITCH ONLY and Manually Controlling the throttle by pilot Transmitter directly without making throttle connection to the UDB. Is this the correct Set UP.

I have a UBLOX 5Hz GPS Reciever, What about the accuracy of GPS??? Is it reliable???

Regards,

Z U KHanzada

Hi Zuhaib,

Yes, you can use altitude hold by enabling ALTITUDE HOLD PITCH ONLY and Manually Controlling the throttle by pilot Transmitter directly without making throttle connection to the UDB.

Keep in mind that in that mode, the controls will attempt to maintain the altitude of the plane at the moment that switch into stabilized mode. So you will have launch in manual mode.

Also, if you connect throttle directly to Rx, the only option that you can use for altitude control in waypoint mode is pitch only.

Regarding the GPS, the accuracy very much depends on location, and whether or not WAAS is available in your neighborhood, and whether or not you are in a valley surrounded by mountains, or you are flying from a plain.

Where are you located?

Best regards,
Bill

Thanks Bill,

I want to maintain a hieght of 200 meters then what should be the values of Altitude HOLD MAX and ALTHOLD Minimum and what should be the value of hieght margin ??

Thanks.

Thanks,
Sorry for disturbing u again, I am little confused why we can't maintain an altitude of 200m by selecting AH_PITCHONLY while driving throttle at normal level manually without plugging it to UDB, in stablized or in waypoint mode, please explain??

Hi Z U Khanzada,

If you want to maintain 200 meter height in stablized mode, you will have to select the AH_FULL option, and pass both throttle through the UDB:

#define ALTITUDEHOLD_STABILIZED AH_FULL

Under that option, the throttle stick becomes a selection for altitude instead of throttle.

For 200 meters, set max at 200, min at 20, margin at 20.

And set the maximum throttle setting for how much throttle you want during the climbout, and minimum throttle for the lowest throttle that the controls should use to slow the plane down if that is needed.

Best regards,
Bill
