Folks,
It is just an initial migration and will need tidying up. Things like links back into GoogleCode will need to be changed to links into our github repository. And the Wiki generally needs bringing up to date.
I would suggest that anyone wanting to edit the Wiki should no longer do that in GoogleCode but should now edit the pages in the Github repository. At the moment, anyone with a github account can edit the github wiki. You do not have to have commit rights. (At least that is how the manual says it is setup).
I do not intend to re-migrate or re-synchronise the googlecode wiki with the github wiki again. So this is why I think we should effectively freeze the googlecode wiki. (It took some work and scripting to get this far).
The github wiki is in fact yet another github repository. So it can be cloned to a PC, manipulated and then pushed back to github. (I have been doing this).
But github users can also edit the Wiki directly through their browser.
On a different subject concerning our code repository: The code base from our subversion repository to the code base at
https://github.com/MatrixPilot/MatrixPilot is now being synchronised hourly (on the hour) by my Ubuntu laptop. Anyone who wants to "Fork" their own copy of MatrixPilot on github is encouraged to do so.
We intend to keep sending all updates to the subversion Googlecode repository until we freeze the code repo. (At least before the end of August when Google will freeze it anyway). Updates to GoogleCode will appear on github within an hour So the github account, and any forks, provide a place for us to get more familiar with Git, before we switch over in a month or so.
Best wishes, Pete
