Dear Joan,

Sincerely, our hearts go out to you following the Typhoon Haiyan and
on the behalf of other colleagues in the chapter and university, we
send you our most sincere regards. We hope you find the motivation to
carry on with your endeavors and studies. Please, our warmest regards
to you and to the people the Philippines.

PS: I have been so preoccupied by the failing health of my mother and
her recent passing away, reason for my LOA and this lateness in
extending my regrets following the disaster.

Dear Ateafac and all of you, my UoPeople friends,

Thank you so much for your kind words of concern and encouragement.

I'll try my best to get back up as much as I can.

Ateafac, I could say I am sorry for you having lost your mother. But I won't. I know loss enough to know that such words wouldn't even begin to cover your pain. I can only tell you to be strong and of good courage. Know that your mother is now at rest in sleep.

Be at peace, my friend.

Sincerely,
Joan
