Artificial Intelligence is playing an increasingly important role in telecommunication network. However, trending AI relying on deep learning cannot explain their decisions, and thus are not trustworthy. In domains where security is of utmost importance such as 5G and beyond, trustworthy is the pivotal requirement. Rigorous explanations must be provided for the decisions made by AI, making them ready-for-interrogation, before they can be trusted by humans.

Most recently, leveraging semantic web technologies, the AI driven applications, “social bots”, have becoming the biggest threat globally. Being able to post over one million posts within 5 minutes, and mimicing human, these AI bots are destroying truth, creating chaos, and sowing division within our society at a raging speed. The most dangerous thing is, most human are not aware of it. Explainable AI technologies are fundamental to reveal the real intentions of the herder of “social bots” swarm, and make the interrogation and supervision of the AI possible. This special session tries to address these research lines and aims to provide a forum for the global community to discuss problems, challenges, and innovative approaches in the various fields of trustworthy AI.

Topics include (but not limited to):

- Explainable Artificial Intelligence

- Trustable and Transparent LLMs

- Fairness and Bias Auditing

- Formal verifications in AI

- Explainable and trustworthy AI in 5G
