Call for Submissions – Special Session on Networks and Graph Neural Networks at CIBB 2026

We are pleased to invite submissions to the special session “Networks and Graph Neural Networks for Bridging Bioinformatics and Medicine” at CIBB 2026, taking place September 2–4, 2026 in Rome.

The session focuses on network science and graph neural networks for modeling complex biological and clinical systems. We welcome contributions spanning methodological advances, theoretical developments, and applied studies with translational impact.
Topics of interest include:
- Network-based modelling of omics and multi-omics data
- GNNs for molecular interactions, pathways, and regulatory networks
- Patient similarity graphs and clinical data representation
- Explainable and interpretable graph ML
- Disease prediction and progression modeling
- Drug discovery and target/repurposing applications
- Knowledge graphs and hybrid symbolic–neural approaches
- Benchmarking graph models in biomedical contexts
- Case studies linking computational pipelines to precision medicine
Key dates:
- Short paper deadline: May 3, 2026
- Notification: June 15, 2026
- Camera-ready: July 7, 2026
Submission details:
- Length: 4-6 pages (template on conference website)

- At least one author must register
- Accepted papers: oral presentation + invitation for Springer LNBI or journal special issues (extended version)
