16th Annual Fast-A-Thon - TOMORROW!

Hello Everyone!!

Just wanted to remind you all that our 16th Annual Fast-A-Thon is TOMORROW in Hill Student Center Ballrooms C&D. Doors open at 5:30pm! 

As we end our month long fundraiser for the Hunger Crisis in Yemen, we want to thank each and every one of you for your donations that will help our Muslim brothers and sisters in Yemen. We end this month with our Annual Fast-A-Thon where we will provide a free dinner and acknowledge everyone's collective effort to make this fundraiser possible. Make sure to bring all your friends and family; we can't wait to see you all there!

During the day of Fast-A-Thon we ask UAB students, staff, and community to abstain from food and water from sunrise to sunset. There are multiple purposes for this. The first is to promote understanding of muslim faith as fasting is a major tenet of Islam. The second purpose is to feel for our humanitarian cause. All around the world there are people who are unable to obtain clean food and water. Fasting, even for a day, helps promote understanding, and helps us feel with those who have less.
