Halaqa Cancelled and Important Community Update

Salam and Peace to All,

This is a quick update with important news from MSA.

-Unfortunately the Halaqa planned for tomorrow, Thursday (9/20/18) is cancelled to due to some small issues. Another email will be sent if the halaqa is rescheduled.  

-Tomorrow, Thursday (9/20/18) is the day of Ashura, the tenth of the first month in the Islamic calendar. Muslims are advised by the prophet to fast on that day so that sins of the previous year can be forgiven.

- There will be iftar (dinner to break the fast) after Maghreb (7pm) at the Hoover Crescent Islamic Center tomorrow, Thursday (9/20/18) hosted by the Birmingham Islamic Society.

-Imam Sameh Asal PhD is holding a lecture for Highschool and College brothers/guys on issues of dating and  purity/cleanliness after Isha prayer (8:30pm) at the Hoover Crescent Masjid on Friday (9/21/18). All guys are invited. A similar lecture is planned for sisters/girls in the near future.
