About the Scholarship: Gay Dating Sites.net is proud to announce it’s first ever Speak out Against Prejudice Scholarship that will be awarded to a deserving student committed to helping combat and shatter the negative stereotypes associated with the GLBT community.

Scholarship Amount: $5,000 that will fund non-tuition related expenses, including but not limited to:

  •     Rent
  •     Childcare
  •     Books/School Supplies
  •     Gas/Travel Expenses
  •     Utilities


Applications Deadline:
June 1, 2012

Winner Announced:
July 1, 2012

Award Date: The scholarship funds will be distributed for the 2012-2013 academic school year (Fall and Spring semester)

Criteria:

  •     Student must be a US citizen
  •     Student must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary accredited institution or must be enrolled by the start of the academic school year (September 1, 2012)
  •     Student must have a financial need for the scholarship, and must therefore already be receiving or must be intending to receive some form of aid, grant, loan, etc.
  •     Student must be pursuing a career that will involve taking a stand against the negative stereotypes often associated with the GLBT community and/or counseling or mentoring those affected by such stereotypes.


Preferred degree programs are as follows:

  •         Psychology
  •         Sociology
  •         Communications/Public Speaking
  •         Political Science
  •         GLBT Studies
  •         Conflict Resolution Studies
  •         Fine Arts / Performing Arts
  •         Others are eligible with a research/training concentration on reducing GLBT stereotypes

Application Instructions: Interested students may apply for our scholarship by downloading and completing the application form found on our website. Answers can either be typed or hand-written, but please make sure to print clearly if it’s the latter. Once completed, all applications must be printed out and signed, then scanned and emailed to the following address:
