We are DreamBit Studios, a fresh international gaming startup (Riga-based) that is assembled to create better social gaming experiences. We believe that there is a lot of space for innovations in social games so we follow our goal to provide entertainment for everybody in more enjoyable and better way.

Our current project is a casual isometric RPG with interesting storyline, great looking artwork and flexible platform for rapid update cycle. The game project currently consists of four parts:

  • The game front end [Flash]
  • The game back end [Python]
  • The editor [AIR]
  • Isometric engine (used in both front end and editor) [Flash]

The editor gives opportunity for game designers to configure and develop the game. For example: create any assets, maps, quests, dialogs, places, items, etc. The main goal is to make a tool which allow designers to create and adjust everything in the game without developers assistance.

We would expect from you:

  • Refactoring, maintaining and adding new features to the engine for example performance optimization, adding new API methods to existing and new objects
  • Creating parsers and renders for game data (the editor’s result)
  • Involvement in the game development process and ability to provide better solutions for it

If you think you could fulfill our expectations then you could be assured of:

  • Competitive salary ($2000 – $3000 net)
  • Relocation assistance
  • Medical insurance
  • Bendable working hours
  • Great young professional team
  • Ability to express yourself and influence (put your heart in) our games

For this we require:

  • Gaming experience
  • Strong coding skills in AS3 (bases, memory management, event flow, bmpd)
  • Performance optimization on Flash platform
  • Programming skills resulting in clean, high-quality, appropriately optimized code
  • Deep OOP skills, patterns knowledge, best practices and solutions usage
  • Detail oriented, organized, independent
  • Code version control system usage
  • Good teamwork skills
  • Fluent English
  • Academic education is required

Bonus points for:

  • Game development experience
  • Working in any IDE (FlashDevelop, IntelliJ IDEA, Flash Builder, etc.), but not Flash
  • GIT
  • Experience with isometric frameworks
  • Experience with Stage3D (Starling)
  • Flex knowledge
  • Robotlegs framework familiar, signals usage
  • Being awesome :)
