MAN CLAIMS IMAGES FROM MARS ARE CLEVER GOVERNMENT FORGERIES
Rouyn-Noranda, Qc.--July 31, 1997--A man claims recent images of the
Martian landscape, seen by millions of people around the world, are
clever forgeries and part of an elaborate government cover up. Speaking
on condition of anonymity, the man said, "I have inside information that
the government is using a highly sophisticated graphics software, code
named FTC, to simulate the appearance of the Martian atmosphere and
terrain. This high-tech application uses an advanced fractalization
method to simulate waves, ripples, bumps and craters. If you combine
these elements with special lighting, shading and reflection effects,
you create a perfect three dimensional graphic illusion."
Fact or fiction?
The scenario is fiction (we're 99.9% sure). Our apologies for being
intentionally provocative in our headline, but hope you at least got a
chuckle from it. FTC is not a secret code name, it's an acronym for
Fractal Texture Composer, and it does a fantastic job of simulating 3D
elevations.
Uppercut Software is pleased to announce the availability of Fractal
Texture Composer 2.0 for Windows 95tm and Windows NTtm. FTC is the ideal
tool for beginners or professionals to create textures and background
images.
FTC is a must have for multimedia, 3D, VRML and website developers.
