Hello,

I'm a new guy, with a new multi-effect pedal, Line 6 M13. I would like
to know if somebody have the full U2 setlist presets for the M13. I
need them asap, because the shows are coming next month.

Thanks in Advance!

so grab your guitar, find good basic tone of your amp, turn on M13,
dial Delay and tap 8 dotted, some songs 1/4. Turn on overdrive when
needed.
why are people so lazy thesedays

"i need presets, give me that presets, full setlist" ASAP, lol man

work it out...spend your time.
Do you really think that anyone will send you some fulllist presets
for all songs? :o/ Every guitar, every amp, every player need specific
settings, but basic is still delay in tempo you will play. nothing
less, nothing more..

I will take my time, probably next weekend. Meanwhile i will use my
previous presents on the little GX-2. I think there's a general
presets for a common Edge's guitar sound.

Yes, that is right attitude, and when you will be stuck with some
concrete issues, how to set this one and this one, many people will
help you here. But its always good to try yourself and build it up.
When people see some effort they will help you to find some things you
will not be able to figure out. Good luck and patience.

Wow! Way to welcome the new guy! :)

Try this link. Might at least give you a start but they are both
correct, you will have to adjust for your own amp and gear tone. In
the end, there aren't too many shortcuts and you'll have to spend some
time to get it to sound right.

BTW, these settings may be about as accurate as most tabs out there.
In other words, they could be completely off. I don't own an M13 so I
have no idea if these are good. I've heard some pretty bad settings
that the creator swears was absolutely correct, same with tabs. Use
at your own risk and use your own ears to verify.

Watch Michael's videos and you'll have no trouble. He does a good job
dialing in and layering the correct tone at the beginning so it's
easier to match with your gear.

Pupack - I totally agree with you. There are no shortcuts to quality
results and as you said, it's going to take hard work no mater what.
People are sometimes too quick to ask for the easy way out. I've been
guilty of it myself. In the end, you just end up doing the work
anyway.

And also lets not forget that this is a learning curve... Investing a few hours to learn how the effects relates to each other and with your core amp tone and equipment (guitar, cables, picks...) gets you to a point where it becomes fairly easy to get most of Edge´s tones.

Our main contrubitors on our list got on that level precisely by doing this: Trying, practicing, understanding...
Just my two cents... and.. welcome to the forum, btw.

Welcome to the forum!

I recently picked up a used M13 and so far I am happy with the
results.

In my opinion, a Triad or DTS SDD3K pedal in front of it will take you
one step closer to the U2 tones you are after.

This site has a lot of U2 M13 settings but for some reason won't let
me link to them directly. Therefore, do the following in this order,

http://www.vettaville.nl/

Click skip intro, click the download dropdown and then select patches,
patch database, view patches.

Then select M13 stompbox modeler on the dropdown and hit next.

If you scroll down, you will find many U2 settings, several with
youtube links demonstrating them.

As others have said, this might get you in the ballpark, but you will
still have to adjust and tweak based on your equipment, there is no
way around that.

I'm currently working on New Year's Day with the M13 and these are the
PRELIMINARY results, I'm using a Telecaster, DTS3KP and M13 (Para Eq/
Tube Drive/Digital Delay with Mod) into a Blackstar HT-5.

Hope this helps,

Bill

Hi Bill.

Just listened to your clip, sounds great!  I presume the Blackstar HT-5 is an amp?

One effect I'm not familiar with is the para/eq.  Would you mind sharing your settings for the M13?  I have an M13 and the SDD3KP, but I have an AC30, so I'll probably have to do some tweaking.  Just looking for a starting point with the para/eq. Currently I use the TS-9, SDD3KP and GE-7, but I enjoy experimenting.  Sounds good with the Tube Drive and the Tele.  I find that's a great combo.  Works well for IWF also.

Thanks

Thanks Tony,

Yes, the Blackstar HT-5 is an amp. Blackstar is owned by Korg and a
bunch of guys who used to work at Marshall are there too.

Therefore, their amps have a feature that lets you dial in tones from
Marshall to Vox, there are more demos of this on youtube.

I also like the fact that the HT-5 is a tube amp with 2 channels,
reverb, mp3 input and headphone output. This way I can plug in my
ipod with backing track and go from the headphone out directly into my
camera and avoid micing an amp, a mixer and do it all without
disturbing my sleeping kids!

When I get home tonight, I'll send you the specific settings but in
the meantime, if you haven't watched part 1 of Michael's tutorial on
NYD's, he explains a para eq. It basically tightens up the tone while
boosting the mids.

Great sounding amp.  Sounds like a bunch of guys who really know what they're doing have worked on it.

I've only been through bits and pieces of Michael's NYD tutorial.  I already knew how to play most of it when the tutorials came out, so I may have missed the video on the para/eq.

Appreciate the information!

Thanks Bill.

Great sound. I have used some VOX simulators to get a mix between fuzz and clear sounds. The rest might be a job from the picks. I changed some American Fender picks  to my old Squire, and a good preset into the little Zoom G2.1 to get pretty good U2 sounds like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8NhC-pdKIU

Thanks for your information guys. Appreciate!

Investing a few hours, as well as a few bucks!

Hey Tony,

As promised, I have the Parametric Eq on the M13 set as follows:

Lows, Freq, Q and Gain about 50% and Highs about 25%.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Bill.

I'll play around with those Para/EQ settings, using the Tube Drive, VOX and LPC and see what I can come up with.
