Does not work with outlook.com edu addresses

Followed all the steps. Will not sync. Reinstalled and restarted. Still will not sync. It says tz push and tb sync are syncing, but they are not doing anything at all.

I take it there is no way to make thunderbird sync to outlook.com. Pity. Outlook.com is terrible, likes to delete drafts and gripe about S/MIME control constantly. But I don't have to add every person in the University to my address book manually. I have spent hours now trying to make it work.

I have tested with outlook.com. Works ok for me.
What version of thunderbird are you using?
What platform Windows/linux/mac?

The settings should be:
Active sync version 2.5 will work
server = s.outlook.com
https should be checked
user name should be full email address
Your password
Do not check provisioning.
Device Id can be any thing you want.

Please note tzpush will ony sync real outlook address book. Not linked address, ie skype.

Try adding a new contact in outlook web.
Set extensions.tzpush.debugwbxml to 1 in thunderbird config.
Sync and look at any errors in console.

Tried on both Linux and Mac High Sierra. Thunderbird 52.6.

Autodiscover for outlook.com accounts returns the following settings (at the moment):

server: eas.outlook.com
version: 14.0
provision : off

i do not use tzpush (because it does not support autodiscover), but these settings work with my outlook.com account.
