If there is any interest, I've been working on an open-source automated aquaponics system, and I'd like to take it to the next level.

- Automated Restaurant: It would be a 2 story restaurant; the first level in the actual restaurant facility, and the upper level is a fully automated aquaponics system.
- Social program: free food. Once this approach for sustainable food growth - that does not require sunlight or soil - is optimized in such a way that it requires only a small handful of people to maintain it, I'd like to take it to the city and demand a social program be set up where these systems can be integrated directly into near by suburbs and the entire city.

Really cool idea for the restaurant. I dunno about trying to demand anything from the city lol. I would think it would be a lot more practical to just host free food giveaways and try to get other people interested in the idea and help them set it up. I mean you could always approach the city but I would see more success in asking them for something like a grant to help you try and expand to new areas.

hah  yea, the city idea would be something for much later on when the majority of the public in the area are educated enough on this technology to want to not only set up, but volunteer to ensure the integrity and sustainability of a system that will benefit everyone.  This could even be part of the uprising 'parallel government' that Peter has mentioned to make sure these systems are put in place whether business and traditional government agree to it or not.
