The official Z-Day Global website is up!

Check it out! There are already numerous events across the world planned and even more on the way; including ours here in IL! The main event will be in London this year, putting us here in Chicago I think...7 hours behind? They have a lot going on and I think everyone is really looking forward to the archived footage from the event this year; I certainly am!

The location has been set for the IL event:

MultiKulti
1000 N. Milwaukee Ave.
Chicago, IL 60642

Date: March 12th and 13th

Event: ... well, we don't have this planned out completely yet so, stay tuned. I CAN say that we're working on putting together some awesome live bands. We're also working on getting a few speakers and have several leads in doing so. Most likely a potluck event like this past year. Good times! Please please if you have suggestions or resources to help, speak up!!

I'm putting together a nice playlist of videos and other YouTube media for Z-Day; any suggestions?

Hello Austin, contact me at matthew....@gmail.com . There are
materials, shirts, film (in English) on www.zeitgeistsrbija.org (click
on the banner where it says "Klikni Ovde" and you will see design for
tshirts, flyer, video download for Z Day.

Z Day is fast approaching and two weeks have passed since I offered my
help and ideas to Chicago coordinator Dave, but I still haven't been
asked to participate in any away. When it takes main coordinator two
weeks or more to utilize help, something is not efficient in the
system of communication and organization and should be looked at.

what kind of video/media are you looking for, Austin?

I was just about to ask the same thing. I could suggest documentaries
'til the cows come home, but there's too many good ones to do that.
Pick a subject and we can go from there.

I'm looking for short vids, probably no more than 15 minutes or so. I'm adding a lot of the "Why I advocate TZM" and stuff like that.

Matt, I asked in a previous post what email address you addressed and about your suggestions. There are now 3 Coordinators in IL, 2 Area and 1 State. Dave is an extraordinarily busy individual. Aside from his daily survival (family, job, recreation) he is very busy on numerous projects within the movement including the Linguistics Team and all their work. That's where we Local Coordinators come in to try and take up some of the responsibilities and alleviate the State Coords. So, by all mean, if there is anything you need please get a hold of myself or David (Chicago) as well. However, it is important to note that there are no secrets within the movement at all. All information is available to all people. So, if theres something you want to share, feel free to share it with the group here if our help isn't working out.

Also, you don't need to wait for us to ask for help. Just do your thing, man. Put your skills to use for the movement (for the world), not for Dave. There are no leaders in this Movement and no one to take specific orders from aside from yourself and your own dedication. Don't wait for someone to ask you for help, if you see something that you can do and help with, do it.

Austin, I am not here to help Dave from Chicago nor myself, I am here
to help the movement. I don't appreciate my post being deleted. That's
already a problem created and ego showing up. I don't understand how
you can speak as a coordinator the way you did in the last paragraph.
I am a coordinator of a Serbian linguistics and a member of a web
development team myself. Contacting the coordinator, in order not to
do double work, is e x a c t l y what makes things efficient because
then the coordinator knows what type of help and what type of skills
exist out there. Serving a purpose of a coordinator is to route and
coordinate a team. I strongly believe that your last paragraph is not
the most efficient way to organize the movement. By wanting to improve
the efficiency of the coordination in my city, I am "doing my thing".

I am sure Chicago chapter needs all the help possible and I can help
very much. To have two weeks pass by without a coordinator of a
chapter in need of more help utilizing offered help is not good
enough. As far as busy schedules, I know many coordinators around the
world and one of the priorities for each one is to get into serious
contact with those who come to them. There should be no reason two
weeks go by in a critical period when Z Day is approaching for a
coordinator not to utilize and get into serious contact without a
serious person who wants to know how the chapter operates, help the
chapter, avoid duplicity, and have hands into things. Here is a good
quote I like - Who can, does it, who can't, makes excuses.

I hope no more posts are deleted. Especially since they contain no
conventionally rude language.

I'm not sure what post you're talking about that got deleted. Aside from The Teacher's duplicate post (which was warned was going to be deleted) and a few test posts made when this group was first formed, I don't know of any threads being deleted. That being aside...I'm not sure I understand your issues with what I said. By telling people not to wait for guidance and to utilize their skills every way that can is wrong? Again, being aside...if you'd like to continue this conversation lets either take it via email or to another Thread.

You've still not answered my questions. I'm trying to help you get in contact with who you need to in order to solve this issue. Who are you trying to contact? Who did you send an email to? I can help you get in contact with who you need to in order to get things done but, not unless you help me know whats going on. I know it's duplicate work but, going on about how theres less than two weeks left in this critical period isn't going to help anything either, other than slow me down by trying to make these posts. So, please, help me help you get in touch with who you need to and why.

If this is unreasonable, perhaps you should resend the email you sent to the individual in question?
Dave (IL State Coordinator): dav...@thezeitgeistmovement.com
David (Chicago Area Coordinator): Dav...@tzmillinois.org
Austin (Joliet Area Coordinator): Tyrae...@tzmillinois.org

Please, lets get back on the topic of Z-Day planning. Being a Coordinator yourself, surely you understand the importance of staying on topic. Thank you.

1) Post didn't get deleted. I did, however, clear cookies and still
only your two posts showed up an hour ago. Now all posts including
other people's appear. In the end, simple, my mistake. Sorry.

2) I sent an e-mail to Chicago coordinator, David.

3) It is very clear who to contact on the Illinois website, that part
was done good.

4) The thing in question is, organization of our city's chapter. How
to join the chapter, what does it mean to join the chapter, how do
members communicate after joining, how are tasks and assignments
assigned? I was told by David that the forum serves for communication
since there are no audio or real life meetings. Let's talk about
adding teamspeak meetings and getting the members out there more
connected.

1) No worries, I'm happy that was only a mistake. I did, however, forget to mention that I have deleted any posts about 'unsubscribing'; these posts were mistaken as they really meant to modify their own membership settings to 'no email' and not the daily summery.

2) Gotcha. If he hasn't already, i'll let him know to get a hold of you. It's confusing having two Dave's running around, lol. Dave S. (IL State), David G. (Chicago)

3) Thank you. I wanted to make the site as easily navigatable (?) and informative as possible (with my understanding of site design). I'm definitly up for suggestions and help though so, speak up if you have anything. I made a dedicated Thread for it HERE.

4) I'm fully on board with what you're saying here and am working towards exactly those goals! It's great to see that someone else is thinking the same way. people that are unaware certainly need to know these things and those that are aware need to be reminded constantly! So, i'm with you here. Look forward to TeamSpeak meetings soon after Z-Day as well as dedicated 'meetings' for 'coordinator orientation'. I want to make a dedicated page for what it means to be a 'member' or be a 'coordinator'... Lets discuss it on the thread posted above ^

Taken from the latest Newsletter:

Next Sat & Sun, March 12-13: ZDay 2011 in Chicago

Are your calendars marked? Of course they are! See you at MultKulti, 1000 N. Milwaukee, Chicago, 4th floor next weekend! Keeping in mind we are tracking the events in London, 6 hours ahead of us and thus starting early, the rough agenda is:

Sat 3-12

 9:30AM - doors open

 10:00-11:30 - Stream Peter's live Q&A from London

 11:30-12:00 - Our own Q&A

 12:00-1PM - pot luck lunch

 1PM-2PM - guest speaker (tentative)

2PM-6PM - Screening of selected short ZM vids and other media, with Q&A breaks

 6PM-7PM - dinner break/socialize

 7PM- 1AM - Z party, bands (tentative), etc.

Sun

8:30A - 4PM - Stream Zday live from London. This is their big event day with the multiple lectures (one by Peter), symposium with the VP Design Team modeling displayed, etc.

Optional- screen our own videos, etc.

Free parking is *across the street* from the building. One parting note about Chicago's ZDay: Even we thought it was a longshot at the time, i.e, it seemed certain it would have aired afterward, Tony and I *did* plug the ZDay Chicago event at MultiKulti during the CAN-TV filming! So since it is in fact airing early (on Tues the 8th), that promo will be seen in advance by the Chicago CAN-TV viewer community. So this could give attendance a real shot in the arm! See you there! Topic post is here.

*Added: Waterlife Music is working on a great set of music for Saturday evening and I think the band DI will be giving us a performance as well. I'll be DJing some great tunes to carry us through the evening, and i'm also waiting to hear back from another performer. Anyone else want in, just say so!!

Change of plans! Our event will be going on until 2000 with musical guests from about 1830 till 2000. After will be other musical artists but...i'm not entirely sure who or what.

Also, for Sunday, I'd like to get some actual activism going! Going some place and handing out flyers or talking to people on the streets or whatever the case may be. Anyone have ideas for this? Foxtrot, I saw that Google Doc you posted, it's pretty bad ass, can you link it here on the Discussion group please?

A huge thank you to Foxtrot for whipping up this awesome flyer for us!

Please feel free to print it out and post it up absolutely everywhere! Just click on it to get the full size version.

Also, in case anyone was wondering where they could link people about Z-Day (aside from this thread) I've posted a small news article on our website for it HERE.

My pleasure. The Serbian team is using vests and t-shirts for Z Day
street action and movie screenings as well.

There are pictures of actual vests that were printed out on this forum
topic
http://www.zeitgeistsrbija.org/component/kunena/21-novi-sad/41-dan-z-u-ns?limit=10&Itemid=0&start=10

T-shirt designs:
Preview file: http://www.zeitgeistsrbija.org/cache/multithumb_thumbs/b_800_600_0_0___images_stories_2011_02_majice_web.jpg
FULL PSD (Adobe illustrator file): http://www.zeitgeistsrbija.org/documents/ZDan2011/majice_Q.ai

I am for using this in the Chicago chapter. Perhaps few vests,
members, one guitar player, and DVD copies on a sunny day in Michigan
Avenue. What do you think?

Most definitely! I like the idea of the vests. I always like the signs that people wear. like big pieces of cardboard hanging from either side of you. Those are awesome. The idea of having music is great!! This spring/summer will most certainly be filled with street activism!!
