Hello,
I share Robert's analogy of helping kids who are not intellectually endowed though poor. They are these kind of children that need mentoring and support.Alot of effort needs to be redirected to them.
Personally i have experienced cases where orphans who are not intellectually endowed are not given a second thought by sponsors in my country Kenya. Its therefore a challenge to all of us to refocus our assistance to these kids. By the way, cant we form an eastafrican fund for supporting the less fortunate girls and boys?
Kudos

Hello
I have been funding education for 4 girls in different higher
educations in Tanzania. These girls comes from poor families. They are
not the highest performers in educations but I go for the neglected
lot. The highest performers in Education can easily get access to
government funding through the University Loans.
But the ones who are more desperate are the ones who missed university
with maybe one point or two. This is what I did research and found that
they are the ones who will always not have much hope and end up being
wasted by the society.
>From my Meagre salary, I started with one who was a daughter to my
watchman in Kigoma Tanzania. Then I got a friend who really helped me
fit into the Tanzania lifestyle when I came from nairobi. He died early
last year and he had two daughters who were in Senior six ( A-Level's
form six) in Uganda.
They are average performers but the solebread winner was no-more. These
girls really need help to succeed in life. the only NGO actually
offering much of the same kind of service is Jane Goodall Institue
sponsored Gombe Stream. But they focus on village girls and so its hard
for people born in small urnban centres like Kigoma to get the funding.
I wish to know if any of Tanzania Mentoring Members are aware of any
Institution interested into getting to fund such kind of project.
Thanks
