I think that icouldbe are redoing the website, but the mentors are still
keen to hear from you all and discussions can still take place on the
discussion boards

Hi everyone.

I received an email from Nathaniel Calhoun of icouldbe in the US
stating that the mentoring programme in Tanzania will be relaunched in
the new year possible in February. There appears to be some work going
on to customise the programme for African students including rewriting
some of the content in Kiswahili.

I presume you all got this email too as it was sent to all registered
mentors of the Tanzanian pilot programme? It sounds like some lessons
have been learned and we can start again soon. Personnaly I'm still
keen to help as a mentor from the UK as it gives me a real opportunity
to do something practical to help the kids at Mkombozi.

Its a year since I paid a visit to ACTT and it was clear that there was
a lot of enthusiam for learning there. Are the students on the
programme going to be able to get access to computers and the Internet
on a regular basis to make the mentoring programme work this time? What
problems need to be overcome to make this a success?

Seasons greetings to you all

Richard

Hi Richard
Yes icouldbe.org are re doing the site which should make participation for
the kids easier - I think the main challenges from our end have been the
persistent power rationing and the content of the curriculum being in
English, so the changes to the site are welcomed from us

Thanks everyone for their support and understanding during the piloting of
this programme
Take care
