Registration Questions and Concerns

So far we've had the three following questions raised - all are very
good, I believe

1) "I'm very young (born in 1986) and am just preparing for university
now. I would like to be a mentor, but I may have been confused about
the requirements before."

2) "I am a freelancer -- can I use one of my clients as a job
reference"

3) "I don't live in Tanzania - but there is only the option for people
living in tanzania on the registration form"

I've sent these on to Sazara - who I hope will introduce herself to
everyone today - she is the facilitator from the icouldbe.org side of
things but my immediate thoughts are

1) probably better to at least be *in* university? not sure how to
respond to this exactly

2) definitely can use clients as refs

3) probably that was our error because we never expected the tremendous
response that we got from mentors - i would say for right now fill in
your information as if you live in TZ and just put your overseas
address in where it fits - and we'll be able to change that around
later - but mabye the icouldbe programmers can put in another option?

To add to Christopher's answers.

1) I agree with Christopher. It is so wonderful that you are
preparing for the university. As soon as you are "in" the university,
let us know ,and we will help you become a mentor.

2) We welcome freelancers. Please provide us with 2 job references
from your clients. You may email it Christopher's address. He will
forward the information to me. Chris, she has your email address, yes?

3) I will speak to the webmaster as soon as possible to see if we can
include US mentors. I am unable to change your information if you
place Tanzania as your location. I will post another response with the
webmaster's answer.

Dear Sazara,

 

Obviously I was very interested in joining this mentor thing. However I find that I simply do not have the time in this year. I hope next year when things settle a bit I will be able to contribute to this project.
